Sessions can take place over online video call, using Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, or by phone call at a time we've arranged in advance, for the same 50 minutes as an in-person session. You'll need a device with a camera and a stable enough internet connection or access to a phone and a space where you can be on your own without being disturbed whilst the session takes place.

  • Will it feel as personal as being in the therapy room? Most people are surprised just how quickly it stops feeling like 'a video call' and starts feeling more like a conversation.

  • What if my internet cuts out or something goes wrong? It happens occasionally, we just reconnect and carry on where we left off.

  • Do I need to find total privacy? Ideally somewhere you won't be interrupted but it doesn't need to be a dedicated room, wherever gives you the most quiet.

  • What if i process better moving around and not looking at the screen? All completely fine here, there's zero expectations from me to sit still or hold eye contact with the camera, same as in person sessions.

Online or telephone therapy doesn't change how we work, we still work at a pace that suits you, with the same collaborative approach, the same space to bring whatever's going on for you. If anything, some people find it easier to be fully themselves from home than they would sitting across from me in a room.

Online & Telephone Counselling & Psychotherapy

Maybe getting to an appointment feels like its own hurdle, the travel, knowing where to park, having to hold yourself together in public before you've even started. Or maybe you just want to talk from somewhere that feels familiar and comforting, with your own things around you. Also, if you're not based locally to me, this gives us an option to work together.
