Roxanne Simmonds: Counselling and Psychotherapy

Current working days:
Monday (evening), Tuesday and Wednesday.

Hi, I'm Roxanne 👋I'm a qualified integrative counsellor and psychotherapist and registered member of the BACP.Based in Stoke-on-Trent, UK, sessions can take place either online or by telephone. (I do have access to a space for in person therapy, within the ST6 area, with limited availability)I’m here to offer a space where you can feel truly seen and heard, where every part of you is welcome. Together, we’ll explore what’s most helpful for you, make sense of your experiences, and find ways to move forward that feel authentic and manageable. As an integrative therapist, I draw from a variety of approaches to support with anxiety, stress, self-esteem, relationships, neurodivergence, and life transitions. Providing a calm and compassionate space where you can reflect, feel supported and take steps forward at your own pace.Life can sometimes feel heavy or overwhelming. I aim to offer a gentle, steady presence where you can explore what’s happening at your own pace. Along the way, we can use tools and reflections that may help ease some of the weight, create steadier ground, and invite small moments of calm into your daily life, however that looks for you.

Where I can offer support:

Anxiety & Stress: overwhelm, anxiety cycles, uncertainty, emotional regulation.Self-Esteem & Inner Critic: self-worth, confidence, self-acceptance, core beliefs.Neurodivergence (diagnosed or self-identified): self-discovery, late diagnosis, masking, identity.Relationships & Attachment: relational challenges, patterns, connection, past and present patterns and dynamics.Life Transitions: big changes, grief, endings, new beginnings.

My Approach:

🌱 Integrative & PersonalisedI draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to suit your individual needs and preferences, including person-centred, CBT techniques, and attachment-based work. There is also the option to bring in some creative elements, if that feels right for you. More than anything, I believe therapy is a collaborative process, which we shape together, in a way that feels supportive for you.💛 Making space for difficult feelingsLife can sometimes feel heavy or overwhelming. In our work together, I offer a gentle and flexible approach, creating space to explore what’s going on at your pace. Along the way, we can draw on tools and reflections that may help to ease the weight, build steadier ground, and invite moments of calm into your daily life, however that may look for you.🌈 Neuro-Affirming SupportMy practice is rooted in a neuro-affirming perspective, one that recognises ADHD, Autism, Dyspraxia and all other forms of neurodivergence as meaningful parts of who we are. As I continue to explore and better understand my own neurodivergent experiences, I bring a personal appreciation of both the challenges and strengths that can come with them.👥 Relationship ExplorationRelationships, whether that's with partners, family, friends or even yourself, can be both rewarding and tricky. Together, we can explore patterns, reflect on past experiences and find ways to relate and communicate that feel right for you, in a safe and welcoming space.
