Frequently Asked Questions
1
What is neurodivergence?
Neurodivergent is a term that describes brains which work differently to what is considered typical, including ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism, AuDHD, Dyspraxia and more. It is not a medical diagnosis in itself, more of a way of describing and understanding different variations of brain types. You can have a formal diagnosis, self-identify as neurodivergent or simply be exploring whether it fits for you - all of which are valid.
2
Do I need a diagnosis to work with you?
Not at all. Whether you have a formal diagnosis, self-identify as neurodivergent or you're just starting to wonder, you're welcome here exactly as you are.
3
What can I get support for?
I work with adults navigating anxiety, burnout, self-esteem, identity and life transitions, alongside neurodivergence such as ADHD, AuDHD, dyslexia, autism, OCD and more.
4
What if I've never had therapy before and don't know what to expect?
That's really common and totally understandable. The introductory call is a great opportunity to ask me any questions and get a feel for things before committing to anything.
5
What if I find it hard to express how I'm feeling in words?
That's OK. I have some tools and materials available in the room like illustration cards, nesting dolls and sometimes just sitting with something without having to articulate it perfectly is a valid part of the process. Again, we take it all at a pace that feels most comfortable for you.
6
Is it OK if I need to move around or fidget in sessions?
Yes yes yes! Please make yourself as comfortable as possible, there's no expectation to sit still and I certainly don't! You're welcome to take your shoes off, sit cross legged, on the floor, using the fidget tools, colouring in, whatever helps you feel settled.
7
How long will I need therapy for?
This is really individual and something we can explore together. There's no fixed number of sessions, some people find a short period of focused work helpful whereas others prefer longer term support. We'll check in regularly to see how things are feeling.
8
What if we start working together and it doesn't feel like the right fit?
That's also OK and really important to say. The therapeutic relationship matters and if it doesn't feel right for you we can talk about it openly and I can help to signpost you to other options if needed.
9
How do I book a session?
The easiest way is to pop me a message or give me a call/text. I've included my contact details here:

I'll get back to you as soon as I can and we can arrange a convenient time to chat, starting with the free 15 minute intro call.

What days and times are sessions available?
I work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and work evenings on Mondays and Tuesdays only. Get in touch with your best availability, which days/times work best for you and we can see if our availabilites match.
11
Can I switch between in person, online, telephone?
Yep, if circumstances change or you'd prefer a different format at any point, just let me know and we can be flexible about that.
12
What if I need to take a break from therapy?
That's completely fine, life happens and sometimes breaks are needed. There's no pressure to commit to a set number of sessions upfront and we can always pick things back up when the time feels right for you.
13
How much are sessions?
£45 per session
